Who is Jake Adams
The Golfer BehindCountry Club Adjacent
Jake Adams is a stand-up comedian, golf content creator, and the founder of Country Club Adjacent.
Born August 20, 1991, Adams grew up on Cape Cod playing competitive golf. He went to the Professional Golfers Career College in Temecula, California, then moved to Los Angeles and took a job caddying at Bel-Air and Wilshire Country Club. Those years inside the ropes gave him the material he’s been mining ever since.
He worked the Hollywood Improv as a comic and produced The Everything Show there in 2016, with appearances on Comedy Central and Funny or Die. He also wrote for Rickie Fowler’s Rocket Mortgage commercials and freelanced for GolfWRX.
Adams launched Country Club Adjacent in 2020, during the pandemic golf boom. The podcast, YouTube channel, and social accounts run on golf matches, self-deprecating Jewish humor, and a running joke that he does not belong at any of these places. With partners including Griff Pippin, the channel has passed 700,000 YouTube subscribers and is closing in on 1 million Instagram followers. The recurring bits people show up for: high-stakes matches, the Back Off Challenge, and a series reviewing Jewish country clubs that grades the pickles and ranks the courses on a Star of David scale.
